ANN KRISTIN GLENSTER, BFA, MFA, MEGA, FRSA
Green Film Practices is founded by Ann Kristin Glenster (MD), who has more than ten years experience in film finance. Ann Kristin has previously worked as a strategic consultant for the interactive, internet-based, remixable film project lead Modfilms in association with NESTA, and continues to develop leading regional strategies for media clusters and audiovisual companies. She has just finished a business development scheme (“On Track”) working with 12 regional film businesses in Somerset. Ann Kristin first became passionate about the environmental impact of filmmaking as the Managing Director of an Arctic regional film fund and facility (FilmCamp) and has since early this year championed pioneering ways of introducing innovative working methods, new technology and legal methodology to sustainable filmmaking.
MARY HARE (PRODUCTION CONSULTANT) has worked as a producer, line producer, location manager, production coordinator, assistant floor manager, production manager and secretary. Her more than twenty years of “on set” experience covers an impressive hundred episodes for television, including several UK classics such as The Bill and Bergerac. Mary has long been dedicated to environmental issues and, two decades ago, she was part of a team that introduced the first commitment to green working practices at the BBC:
"The BBC drama series and serials department were possibly the first department at the BBC to understand that recycling would become part of our lives" In 1989, Mary Hare and Susan Lumb issued a memo that resulted in offices recycling scripts and schedules that were no longer required. ‘Paper-round’ was able to provide free (at the time) collection and confidential paper recycling services.
